Here’s everything you need to know about the Law of Assumption. It’s a long read, but everything you need is here and in the posts that are linked in this post, so stick with me. I’ve tried to make it as skimmable as possible for you, so check the table of contents to go to the sections you’re most interested in.
Let’s begin.
What is the Law of Assumption
The Law of Assumption is a universal theory explaining the power of the human mind, and its power to command reality via the mind’s intention. When we intend to do something, and assume it’s true in potentiality, we naturally move toward it. With the proper planning and inspired action, the mind’s assumption will be achieved.
The universe and reality as we know it works by many different sets of formulae (more than one formula). Everything works just fine, with or without us.
These formulas are called laws. The Law of assumption is one of those laws. Jeff Bezos is famous for saying “I can do anything other than disobey the laws of physics”. This illustrates just how powerful the laws are.
The late Bob Proctor also said “The universal laws work for everyone, everywhere, all the time. No exceptions!”.
So here, we’ve touched on a crucial point that we’ll expand on down in the section about whether or not the Law of assumption actually works.
Who Created / Discovered the Law of Assumption?
The Law of Assumption is the fundamental law of the universe. That means it’s either been here forever, was created by some Supreme being, or is a natural part of a natural universe with no creator at all behind it – Depending on your personal beliefs about reality.
The book Law of Assumption was written by Neville Goddard who is widely considered as one of the principle pioneers of the law itself. He wrote many other commentaries on books like The Bible and was deeply into philosophy and mysticism. The most common ideas and commentaries on the law of assumption are from him.
In my personal opinion, his most moving interpretation of the law came from his explanation of the idea of instant manifestation.
You’ve probably seen the clickbait titles “Manifest in only 24 hours!”. If you were skeptical of the idea, you have every right to be. It sounds ridiculous, and you probably woke up 24 hours later with no manifestation, right?
Neville Goddard explained that the physical representation will not appear instantly, but that reality itself responds vibrationally to your intention and assumption that you deserve it and can have it.
That’s what happens instantly when we talk about instant manifestation. After that, it’s just a matter of keeping yourself aligned with it through attitude and action.
How to Do The Law of Assumption
Finally! We’ve gotten to the point where we can discuss the basics on how beginners learn how to practice the law of assumption. Here is the law of assumption explained.
- Decide on your desired reality
- Prepare yourself for priming the assumption
- Go to sleep, and wake up with an audacious belief
- Live as though it were true, almost as if you’ve brainwashed yourself.
The Law of assumption is more of a dare to reality itself. It assumes a conversation between you and life where life has boldly claimed “You can have whatever you want, and I’m eager to offer it to you” and you live each day searching intently and confidently for the manifestation of that promise in your life.
In order to practice the law of assumption properly: Decide on your desired reality (how does it look), use your subconscious mind before bed and after waking to see and feel that reality constantly during the day, make the audacious assumption that your manifestation exist in potential and your job is simply to feel good, align and allow it in living that way each moment of the day,
Does the Law of Assumption Actually Work?
Yes, the Law of Assumption works. Does gravity work? They’re both laws created by the same creator, and both of them work, all the time. The Law of Assumption, however, is dependent on a manifesters skill level, and it might take someone new to the law longer than veterans of it to manifest. But it works for everyone in due time none-the-less.
The question whether or not the laws of the universe work has a deeper meaning to it. There are extremely qualified people out there who know the law to work wonders in their lives – people with wild success stories of triumph and achievement. The law of assumption definitely works.
The deeper meaning behind this question is our lack of faith in ourselves. Are we worthy of the results we could have using this law? Really what this shows is a lack of self worth and confidence.
There is zero logic behind thinking that one law of the universe works, but the other doesn’t. We could also argue that the law of assumption isn’t a law at all. That would also be an illogical statement, because it’s discussed alongside (by expert human beings) the other laws that we take for granted as being real.
So my answer is yes. The Law of assumption works. It’s in the very same family as every other law that makes the universe work properly. Yes, you are worthy of using it, and reaping the benefits of using it well. Why? Because the law simply works as it should. It doesn’t think about worth at all.
Think about what I’ve said above when using any of the universal laws like the law of attraction, or whenever you feel yourself wondering whether or not the law of assumption can really work for you, or when someone tells you that the law of assumption doesn’t work. The law of assumption is not fake, but you might be asking yourself whether it always works.
Whether it always works depends on you. You want to do something well and properly in order for it to work. The recipe for baking a cake always works if you get the ingredients right.
The same goes for your manifesting practice. Come with everything you’ve got, and everything you need and it works. Fall short with things like lack of self worth, lack of confidence, low vibration etc…and it will take much longer for the law of assumption to work for you.
Signs the law of assumption is working
- You understand and trust your manifestations exist and all you need is to align with them to receive
- You feel confident after having assumed the possibility and make plans to pursue.
- Regardless of seeing physical manifestations, you know it’s on its way.
- You feel inspired and give yourself permission to feel how you would when the manifestation occurs in your life.
- You don’t feel fake. You acknowledge things happen at the best time.
- Synchronicities happen in your life in convincing ways. Sometimes instantly.
- You feel overwhelmed with gratitude.
- People around you seem happier, responding to your internal state.
- Finally, the manifestation arrives. It felt normal the whole time, so you’re not surprised.
- You’re confident in using the law of assumption even more so the next time.
Why is the Law of assumption not working?
If you’re wondering why the law of assumption isn’t working for you, especially if you’re brand new to it, here are a few reasons why you might subconsciously be blocking your dreams from entering your life.
- Low vibration is number one.
- Substance abuse ea: drugs alcohol
- Limiting beliefs “I’m not worthy”
- Toxic environment. Work. Home etc…
- Inconsistency. Set your intention and pursue your goals each day without fail.
- Programming. Natural thought patterns that sabotage us.
- Habits not conducive to pulling the manifestation in.
- Chaotic minds. Scattered mind sends out confusing signals.
- No keystone habits. Anchoring habits that naturally keep you feeling great.
- Deciding that it doesn’t work. A lack of faith in the law itself.
The solutions to these problems will be discussed in the “Tips and Techniques Section”
Questions People have about the Law of Assumption
Here are some of the most frequently asked questions about the law of assumption.
How long does the law of assumption take?
Every single person who has ever come in contact with the idea of manifesting has asked this question. We want our current circumstances to leave and our future dreams to flood in. We heard someone we trust talk about manifesting and decided to get into it ourselves to transform our lives.
So how long does the law of assumption take? The answer is “instantly”, and “it’s up to you”. Reality responds to our desires, but also our alignment with those desires, which is a combination of vibration and effort. When you assume your future dreams to be real, it instantly becomes available (as potential), but only when you align through vibration and action – which both rely on you.
The instant part of manifestation means it is instantly lined up for you to receive, not that it appears instantly in your life. You instantly receive in the form of a vibrational possibility, and as soon as you match that vibration, your manifestation floods into your life.
What about free will and the law of assumption?
When you come across the law of assumption you might find yourself wondering how it works within the context of your, and another person’s free will. Some people manifest relationships, money, better social and family relationships etc…
The Law of Assumption and Free Will: The law of assumption doesn’t force anyone or thing to do anything. It aligns you properly with the life and things you want. It also allows you to shift realities (in a way) and match with the reality you want, rather than forcing it to want you. What you want also wants you, as long as you’re a good match. There is no force or coercion involved.
Let’s pretend you’re trying to bring a certain person into your life. You might think using the law of assumption is forcing them to like you, but in reality, it’s aligning you with them and creating a harmonious reality that’s attractive to both of you.
When manifesting something like money, the money is not being taken from anyone else. You’re aligning with a reality where the money naturally belongs to you.
How does the Law of Assumption work?
The Law of Assumption harnesses your power to grow into your full potential. The law of assumption facilitates your growth by receiving your intention for change, understanding your desire for something new (dream or goal), and responds to your confidence in the law itself (assumption) by sending your manifestation to you with serious momentum.
Is the Law of Assumption spiritual?
Is the Law of Assumption a spiritual law? That depends on the user. Spiritual means non material. Since the law of assumption deals with the realm of matter it brings you manifestations that are created in a material universe, & is not spiritual in nature. However, people use all varieties of spiritual beings to help them with the law. In that way, it is spiritual.
What does Dylan James have to say about the law of assumption?
James Dylan is very good at bridging self concept and assumption to show you how to bring your manifestations into your life with ease. Here’s what James Dylan has to say about the law of assumption.
“Getting someone’s attention and keeping their attention all starts with you and your self concept”
Self concept is a term used in manifesting that describes the ideas and beliefs you have about yourself. Self concepts are ideas like: I’m friendly, I am desirable, It’s easy for people to appreciate and get along with me etc…
You can also use self concept to align your reticular activating system with your desired reality, so you constantly see examples of this self concept in your life, therefore affirming that it’s true and programming your confirmation bias.
“I’m able to maintain this air of complete confidence in myself at all times. There’s absolutely no need. There’s no grasping. I feel great. And I can shift my focus wherever I want, trusting that everything is going to work.”
Here he speaks about what kind of unshakeable confidence comes within you once you’ve become well practiced at programming and reprogramming your self concept.
“…you’re gonna be relaxed at all times. You’re gonna be feeling good at all times. You’re gonna be feeling like things are working in your favor at all times. So the first key here is to get into that state of being, to get into a state of being where there’s no need, there’s no Grasping. There’s no wanting. There’s no desire. You are able to just maintain yourself all day long. You’re feeling really good and happy with your life. You’re feeling very confident with the direction that your life is going.”
Many teachers of the Law of attraction and the Law of assumption have noticed that wanting, desiring and going after something too much creates an atmosphere of desperation around the manifestation itself.
They say it’s better to decide what you want, and let go of the desperate need to have it. This contradiction is hard to master but is truly what makes manifestation happen more quickly than ever. Again, the key is confidence in yourself and the law itself.
The assumptions you make about reality determine how your reality (and everyone within it) responds to you.
“…you want to start programming into your mind. This person loves coming towards me. This person loves spending time with me. They love speaking to me. They connect with me on a very deep, intimate level. You want to affirm these things into your self concept being with me is the best thing that’s ever happened to them.
Confirming and affirming these ideas into your self concept can sometimes get stuck in the conscious mind. Therefore it’s supremely important to ensure these ideas dive deep and get deeply rooted into your unconscious mind. That makes the entire process 100x faster.
The best way to program your subconscious mind is to take advantage of the few moments before sleeping and the few moments after you wake up. I use binaural beats personally and they work great.

What does Jim Carrey have to say about the law of assumption?
Jim Carrey: “I had a teacher in Grade 2 who said, ‘you know whenever I want something I create it. Virgin Mary, I asked her for it and I promised to return it to get whatever I want.”
Interviewer: “So didn’t you write yourself a check? I heard that you did. Is that true?”
Jim Carrey: “I wrote myself a check for $10 million dollars for acting services rendered, and I gave myself five years. My dad could never afford a bicycle so I went home and prayed for a bicycle and promised I’d say the rosary in return and then a bicycle showed up in my living room.”
What does Joe Dispenza say about the law of assumption?
Dr. Joe Dispenza’s material is great mainly because it bridges what most people think to be a froo-froo head in the clouds philosophy with neuroscience. He’s particularly expert with what happens in the brain during these manifestation practices.
Joe Dispenza: “How do you teach people to believe in the future that they can’t see or experience with their senses yet?
What they’ve thought about enough times in their mind that their brain has literally changed to look like the event has already occurred. The latest research in neuroscience says that it’s absolutely possible, we know that.
And how do you teach a person to select a new possibility in their future and begin to emotionally embrace that future before it’s made manifest to such a degree that their body is their unconscious mind…is believing it’s living in that future reality in the present moment.
And they’re signaling new genes in new ways ahead of the environment now so their body begins to change to look like the event has already occurred.”
Here he’s talking about how visualization and feeling the future in the present moment doesn’t just sound like a good mental exercise, but actually changes your physiology and brings the future reality into your body in the present.
The physical aspect of our human experience aligns with our mental and intellectual aspects to attract a manifestation into our reality.
Joe Dispenza: “We’ve proven that that’s possible now. So your body is believing it’s living in that future reality in the present moment.”
In this conversation with Lewis Howes, Dispenza confirms that practices like gratitude, meditation, visualizing, affirmations and subconscious programming, are not useless, but that they gradually prime us for our desired reality to occur. Each time it gets easier and easier and the mind and body get more and more used to the idea of being real.
Joe Dispenza: “Now think about this, the stronger the emotion you feel from some condition in your life, the more altered you feel inside of you, the more you narrow your focus on the cause and the brain freezes an image and takes a snapshot and that memory now is embossed, the brain, it’s branded in there.”
Notice he used the word embossed here. Embossed means literally to carve into something, or to leave a design on an object in the form of indentation.
When those good emotions you feel while thinking about your desired future become so easily connected with (through practice) the brain, via its partnership with your imagination, imprints this future and everything that comes with it on your brain.
In so much as our brains have an effect on our reality, the blueprints imprinted on the brain bring those realities into our lives. So each time you practice your law of attraction (law of assumption) techniques you are literally changing your body to match the frequency of your desired future.
What does Joseph Murphy say about the law of assumption?
Joseph Murphy: “One young man in our audience had experienced a poverty complex for many years and had received no answers to his prayers. He had prayed for prosperity, but the fear of poverty continuously weighed on his mind. Naturally, he attracted more lack and limitation. Your subconscious mind accepts the dominant of two ideas. This is a law.
After talking with him, he learned to pray as follows. I know there is only one source, the life principle from which all things flow. It created the universe and all things are contained. I am a focal point of the Divine Presence.”
You manifest what you ARE, not what you want. The manifestation occurs according to desire matched with vibration. If the desire does not match the corresponding vibration required to bring the manifestation from subtle to physical, then it will not occur.
Joseph Murphy: “Whatever you impress on your subconscious mind is expressed on the screen of space, and your conscious mind is the pen.”
Remember, the best way to reprogram your subconscious mind is to take advantage of the few moments after you wake up and right before bed. Prime yourself for the day ahead and for sleeping at night.

Joseph Murphy: “No one disturbs you but yourself. It’s a movement of your own thoughts, your own emotions, your actions and reactions.”
Joseph Murphy: “You are a river of life and your purpose is to meet challenges, difficulties and problems and to overcome them. Not be mentally fighting or quarreling with them, but by meeting them head on, while realizing that joy is in overcoming. Say to yourself the problem is here, but infinite intelligence within me is here also.”
There is no reason to feel scattered or disheartened by challenges. They are nothing but obstacles along the path. Feel grateful that you are on the path at all, because you used to not be. Secondly, the obstacles themselves prepare you to be a good fit for the reality you desire to manifest. They’re job isn’t to tell you no, but to make you stronger.
How to persist during the Law of Assumption
The word persist means to continue on despite any hiccups or failures you experience. Accepting your shortcomings and your lack of skill when manifesting is in and of itself a higher vibrational existence than rejecting yourself due to bumps in the road you might experience. Persist because it’s the best option.
You might not be as well practiced as others, and for that reason decide that there’s no hope, but remember, reality responds to those who persist in their endeavors just as much as those who achieve their dreams effortlessly.
All you have to do to persist during the law of assumption is know that what you want is rightfully yours, and that, even if not today, your perseverance will one day get the results you desire.
Law of Assumption and Law of Attraction
Some people rightfully wonder, “what is the difference between the law of assumption and the law of attraction?”. They are companions. In fact, you might say that the law of assumption is a sub category within the law of attraction.
The Law of Attraction is really just another way of explaining a few of the Laws of Karma.
- What you focus on grows
- What you worked toward incessantly provides you joy and the reward comes on its own time
- You project your inner world outward and receive that in the physical
The Law of assumption and the law of attraction’s relationship is most closely associated with the law of focus. You cannot focus on two things at once successfully. What you assume to be valid, is valid, and shows up in your life. So understand that all things are equally valid and choose which you enjoy the most. Then watch it show up in your life in time.
Different Perspectives on the Law of Assumption
Law of Assumption, Christianity and the Bible
Here are 5 examples of the Law of Assumption spoken of in the Bible:
- “Rejoice in hope, be patient in tribulation, be constant in prayer.” “Let your reasonableness be known to everyone. The Lord is at hand; do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God.
- “And all things, whatsoever you shall ask in prayer, believing, you shall receive.” – Matthew 21:22
- “Ask, and it shall be given to you; seek, and you shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you.” – Matthew 7:7
- “If thou can believe, all things are possible, to him that believeth.” – Mark 9.23
- “According to your faith, shall it be done to you.” – Matthew 9:29
- “Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours.” – Mark 11:24
- “Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen.” – Hebrews 11:1
Law of Assumption and Science / Quantum Physics
A person who thinks Law of assumption scientifically valid and valid in quantum physics is well within adherence to the scientific method – results do not need to be objective in order to be valid per this method. The Law of assumption also does not break any of the formal rules of logic when reasonably applied either.
The dynamic between accepted scientific thought and the law of assumption is basically the same as everything else – many mainstream scientists use objective results as the only valid way to judge the world and how it works.
Common sense has no value. Anecdotal evidence (even when derived from qualified sources) has no value, and if it the effect cannot be objectively measured, the report that “no substantial results have been found”.
The blunder in this type of thinking is clear, so I won’t even bother explaining it in detail. There are many things in life we take for granted that cannot be objectively measured.
Take for example a (absolutely brilliant) argument first explained to me by my own guru. He often asks people who are addicted to this idea that everything valid and real must be objectively measured in order to prove to him that they exist.
Every time, they point to their chest and say “Well, I’m right here.”
Then my Guru will say “The only thing you can prove is that I’m bringing in data through my eyes and other senses, and sensing something. You’re a hallucination created by my brain and exist only as vibration in my external reality.”
Then he’ll say, “You wake up every day, thinking yourself to be valid. I step on the ground every day with my feet, but if I step on you, there’s something wrong with my behavior. It’s because you believe yourself to be something inherently valid, and vastly superior than just being a hallucination of certain data done by my brain. Prove it. ”
Then whenever they realize that they can’t prove it to him he says, “Since you can’t prove you exist at all, or that there’s anything more valuable about you than any other inanimate object, stop acting like it.”
This argument is brilliant because, clearly, they’re not going to stop acting like they exist, and they certainly won’t give other people the right to treat them like they’re nothing but rocks on the ground. They will continue to live their lives like they are something valuable, without any proof that this idea is valid.
If they don’t abandon the idea that all things are only valid once they’ve been objectively proven and measured, they must admit that they are hypocrites and that they only accept whatever truths support their own confirmation bias.
He wins either way.
Law of Assumption, Hinduism and Karma
You are what your deep driving desire is.
As your desire is, so your will. As your will is,
So your deed. As your deed is, so is your destiny.
(Brihadaranyaka Upanishad IV.5)
“O Mighty armed one, undoubtedly the mind is fickle and difficult to master; but it can be controlled by diligent practice, O Arjuna and detachment from sense enjoyment.”
A secret to the law of assumption bearing fruit is to master desiring with confidence, not neediness. When you want something so much it creates a vibration of desperation which repels what you want from coming into your life.
“One who is unattached to the fruits of his work and who works as he is obligated is in the renounced order of life, and he is the true mystic: not he who lights no fire and performs no work.”
You don’t perform the actions you know will move you closer to your manifestations because they bear fruit. That’s lower on the vibratory scale. Perform the actions because you’re inspired by the potential of them. Learn to love waking up and doing what you do.
“But those who are temperate in eating and recreation, balanced in work, and regulated in sleep, can mitigate all sorrows by practicing Yoga.”
As far as I’m concerned, this one is simple. Take care of yourself. High quality food, sleep, water, and exercise. A healthy body produces constant and highly quality feelings. Feeling good brings the power of the law into your life faster than not.
The 12 Laws of Karma and the Law of Attraction:
- The Great Law or The Law of Cause & Effect: All actions provide results – good or bad.
- The Law of Creation: You must actively participate in the creation of your life.
- The Law of Humility: You must be humble enough to accept what is, and not think you deserve more than you’ve worked for.
- The Law of Growth: Real power comes from internal change, not changing your environment to suit your own needs.
- The Law of Responsibility: Nothing stops you from making the choices you make. Therefore, your choices have extreme power. Make the right ones.
- The Law of Connection: All things are mystically connected. Nothing is too small or insignificant. Everything’s in it’s proper place already.
- The Law of Focus: The Sun’s rays can harm nothing, or burn a hole through a leaf, depending on its level of focus. Use your focus in a similar way.
- The Law of Giving & Hospitality: Reality does not forget that you gave. It gives in return in the best way possible for you.
- The Law of Here & Now: The past and present combined should only be 10 percent of your focus. Enough to allow you to make good decisions in the present (90% of your focus.)
- The Law of Change: Change is inevitable. All things transform. You either guide the change, or are a randomized product of it.
- The Law of Patience & Reward: All things happen in their proper order. Be patient. If it doesn’t happen now, it’s not the right time.
- The Law of Significance & Inspiration: “What we do now echoes in eternity.‘ Even after your death, your contribution exists and affects everything forever. Even if only as an afterthought. Choose to do something that inspires you and make it count.
Balancing the Law of Assumption and 3D
Wondering how to balance the law of assumption when you aren’t seeing the physical manifestation yet? The secret is to harmonize your heart and brain – when you notice your manifestation isn’t here yet, close your eyes and meditate on what you imagine it feels like to have it. This raises your vibe, and gets you used to feeling it, pulling it in faster.
Law of assumption and Detachment
Detachment with the law of assumption means not being attached to how something is achieved, only desiring that it be achieved. The creativity of reality is normally much more powerful than ours simply because it can see more variables. Needing something to occur a certain way can send out the vibration of low confidence and desperation, which is not good for manifesting.
Your power to create isn’t less but your imagination might be stifled by programming. Reality is not. It knows the best and easiest way to bring you what you want. So let it.
Law of assumption and Self Concept
The Law of assumption works heavily with the idea of self concept. Self concept is just that, an idea about yourself that you assume to be true. Self concept is an idea represented as a phrase like “I’m easy to get along with.” OR “People find me attractive”.
The law of assumption does not magically whisk things into your life like a genie.
What happens is you reorient your frame of reference, how you see life, to a concept that is more pleasing to you. Your brain, body and mind slowly align with this, and you become it over time. How much time? That depends on your skill as a manifester and your willingness to change.
There is no magic in the universe, even though things seem magical. Everything works according to the rules the universe follows. That’s why it’s called the law of assumption and not the magic of assumption.
You assume that your desired reality is not only possible, but that you deserve it, and could fit well within the context of living it.
The Law of Assumption and Delusion
Like I said, the law of assumption is a formula, not a fairy godmother. There is always some tension between starting to transform yourself and your surroundings into what you desire, and your current 3D reality not showing you back what you want.
The law of assumption can cause novice manifesters to become delusional. You may want to interact with others differently, be sexy to someone, get a raise, or just be more satisfied with life, but immediately, life doesn’t respond to that desire. This harkens back to the idea that reality shows you who you are, not what you want.
The discipline you need when manifesting is to decide who and what you want to be, and show up that way every day. You gradually become it, and the more your personality changes into it, reality will mirror that back to you, but you must deserve it. A part of deserving it is believing that’s who you are, and wearing that new identity or life well every day.
This takes practice and discipline and faith when things don’t seem to be moving fast enough for you. Keep going, understanding that when you’re convinced, reality is convinced. If you feel like you’re faking it, you still need to show up and practice being the new you a bit more.
The law of Assumption Instant Manifestation
Wondering what instant manifestation means? It sounds ridiculous because people think a lamborghini will show up in their living room. Instant manifestation means that your desired reality shows up instantly in potential as soon as you desire it. Your job is to align with it and pull it in, but the “yes” from the universe comes instantly.
10 Law of Assumption Manifestation Tips and Techniques
You’re probably thinking to yourself “this is so daunting, he wrote this insanely long post and expected me to make sense of all this? I’m just as confused as when we started”.
- I totally understand. I did my best to compile ever resource you would ever need but, sometimes it’s hard to take a huge vat of information and organize it into a master plan.
- You probably just want someone to tell you exactly what to do.
I know precisely how you can know every day, what, how and when you should “manifesting”. You need to get organize and you want certainty, right? You wanna know that all your hard work is gonna pay off and not just fizzle out and die. I get it.
My advice would be to train under an expert, and I just so happen to know the experts. In other words, “I got a guy”.
Ever known something was good for a friend, but get discouraged because they just can’t find the faith to move forward? That’s how I feel right now talking to you.

1. Law of Assumption Gratitude Exercises
Gratitude helps with the law of assumption by raising your vibration. Giving thanks for what’s already here might seem odd, since you’re wanting to replace it, but the opposite (not be grateful for what you have) is a nasty quality to see in others and brings your own vibration down.
2. Law of Assumption and Intrusive thoughts
The best way to fight intrusive thoughts while using the law of assumption is not to fight them at all. Aristotle said “build the new rather than fight the old”. When intrusive thoughts come into your mind, spend a few minutes reorienting your thoughts to positive, even if you have to do it several times in a row.
Don’t criticize yourself for those thoughts existing. Just guide your mind elsewhere each time.
3. Law of Assumption Journaling
Journaling is a good practice for the law of assumption, and manifesting in general, because eventually, you’ll have a shitty day. Whenever we have crappy days, we ruminate, catastrophize, and even though it’s only been a single day we feel like our entire life has been crap forever.
You can use journaling with the law of assumption to look back on exactly how you felt the days before to remind yourself that all is not lost, and this is just a crap day. Whatever. Plus, it’s always good to keep records and data for your own use later on.
4. Law of Assumption and Letting Go
When manifesting something with the law of assumption, you need to create the void for manifestations to enter your life, by removing the old outdated things that are currently occupying that space.
Think about your entire life in categories. You have a health category, a wealth category, a family, relationship and social life category – what is in those spaces right now that you want to replace with something new?
You might think of getting fit and looking nice for the ladies or men, but right now in your health space you have things like eating too late, junk food, processed crappy food, not enough water and exercise.
Get rid of the old to create space for the new.
5. Living in the end (Motivation for) the Law of Assumption
Being able to bring those feelings of success, abundance, joy, accomplishment and peace into your experience now is a non-negotiable skill required for high level manifesting.
You might need to practice this if you’re brand new, but it will pay dividends for the rest of your life as you’ll be able to masterfully bring whatever you want into your life.
Living in the end means to have a clear vision of what life is like when you’ve brought the ‘new’ into it.
- Meditate on that, think about it intently and really get a good set point for what you think, how you feel, the way you interact with others and your environment.
- Then spend minutes each day with your eyes closed feeling that, so that it carries into your work and throughout your day with you.
6. Repetition with the Law of Assumption
When practicing the law of assumption, there will be certain activities you want to repeat each day, at different times of the day:
- Waking up and Going to sleep (Affirmations and prayer exercises)
- Vibrational Alignment (practice of lifting your vibration)
- Reading Neville Goddard Quotes
- Journaling your thoughts and feelings
- Breathing exercises when temptation and cravings come
- “Living in the end” meditation
Repetition, especially when done skillfully over time, changes your vibrations, set point, habits and brings your manifestations in faster.
7. Law of Assumption and the Void State
The void state that Neville Goddard speaks of is, in my opinion, very similar to the void that Deepok Chopra talks about in his book The Seven Spiritual Laws of Success. One goes into meditation (however you’re skilled enough to arrive there) and when control of the breath calms the mind, we place a drop in the bucket of infinite consciousness.
You arrive at the state of void, which Chopra calls the Gap, and insert your manifestation there. You leave it alone and let reality take care of it, knowing that your part in the manifestation process has been satisfied until your life shows you more signs where you have opportunities to grow and move toward the manifestation itself.
8. Law of Assumption and Scripting Examples
Scripting during the law of assumption is when you take time to journal each day about what life is like after your manifestation has arrived fully in your life.
An example of scripting during the law of assumption would be: Now that I got this promotion at work, I feel respected, accomplished, confident and secure because of the new pay raise. My family’s spirits are also lifted and everything is great.
9. Law of Assumption and Power vs Force
David Hawkins in his book Power vs Force talks about how manifestation becomes easier as we move up the vibrational scale.
The Vibrational Scale in Power vs Force:
- Enlightenment
- Peace
- Joy
- Love
- Reason
- Acceptance
- Willingness
- Neutrality
- Courage
- Pride
- Anger
- Desire
- Fear
- Grief
- Apathy
- Guilt
- Shame

On the lower end of the vibrational scale (gray), life is extremely difficult. People in your life who just can’t catch a break are constantly enveloped in these regressive downward cascading emotions. They manifest struggle after struggle continuously until they lift themselves out of it.
Orange is a much more powerful range to be in; it’s the realm of motivation and action.
Blue is even better than orange. Blue has inspired action, but this action is much more in flow with life, whereas orange is aggressive. With orange you feel like you will bring your manifestations in by the power of your incessant effort. Blue allows you to put in the effort necessary and allow more than force.
The pink and indigo ranges are where highly evolved human beings live. Manifestations are basically effortless for these people, and therefore, life is also just as effortless.
Until you become masterful at keeping your vibration at a certain set point, you’ll probably roller coaster around a little bit. Life will also struggle your way which might knock you off balance.
If you want an exercise I created to allow you to automatically lift your vibration back to your desired set point you can get that for free after you take the quiz. Plus I’ll also put the quotes, all the affirmations from this post, and some other helpful resources in there just in case you need them.
10. Law of Assumption and the Balloon Exercise
The balloon exercise is a practice I learned a while back from a professional hypnotherapist. In order to rid yourself from automatically rejecting the possibility that your manifestation could come true, simply imagine yourself writing it down on a piece of paper (in detail, envision every pen stroke and letter) then put it inside a balloon, blow the balloon up, and let it flow up into the sky.
The idea of a balloon floating into the sky isn’t hard for the mind to grasp at all, and this is a perfect, quick exercise you can do throughout the day in order to bypass your negative mind that tells you immediately after thinking of your desired manifestation that “that could never happen”.
It’s no longer your job to worry about whether it’s possible. Let it float into the sky and your subconscious will give you clues as to how to pursue it.

45 Law of Assumption Quotes from Neville Goddard
“Change your conception of yourself and you will automatically change the world in which you live. Do not try to change people; they are only messengers telling you who you are. Revalue yourself and they will confirm the change.”
“Chance or accident is not responsible for the things that happen to you, nor is predestined fate the author of your fortune or misfortune. Your subconscious impressions determine the conditions of your world.”
“The subconscious is not selective; it is impersonal and has no respect for persons. The subconscious is not concerned with the truth or falsity of your feelings. It always accepts as true that which you feel to be true.”
“Feeling is the assent of the subconscious to the truth of that which is declared to be true. Because of this quality of the subconscious there is nothing impossible to man. Whatever the mind of man can conceive and feel as true, the subconscious can and must objectify.”
“Your feelings create the pattern from which your world is fashioned, and a change of feeling is a change of pattern.”
“An awakened imagination works with a purpose. It creates and conserves the desirable, and transforms or destroys the undesirable.”
“Assume the feeling of your wish being fulfilled and observe the route that your attention follows.”
“Stop trying to change the world since it is only the mirror. Man’s attempt to change the world by force is as fruitless as breaking a mirror in the hope of changing his face. Leave the mirror and change your face. Leave the world alone and change your conceptions of yourself. The reflection then will be satisfactory.”
“Nothing comes from without; all things come from within – from the subconscious”
“Dare to believe in the reality of your assumption and watch the world play its part relative to its fulfillment.”
“If a man looks upon any other man and estimates that man as less than himself, then he is stealing from the other. He is stealing the other’s birthright – that of equality.”
“I AM wealthy, poor, healthy, sick, free, confined were first of all impressions or conditions felt before they became visible expressions. Your world is your consciousness objectified.”
“Waste no time trying to change the outside; change the within or the impression; and the without or expression will take care of itself. When the truth of this statement dawns upon you, you will know that you have found the lost word or the key to every door.”
“I AM (your consciousness) is the magical lost word which was made flesh in the likeness of that which you are conscious of being.”
“For life makes no mistakes and always gives man that which man first gives himself.”
“Man moves in a world that is nothing more or less than his consciousness objectified.”
“Man fails to do the works of Jesus Christ because he attempts to accomplish them from his present level of consciousness. You will never transcend your present accomplishments through sacrifice and struggle. Your present level of consciousness will only be transcended as you drop the present state and rise to a higher level. You rise to a higher level of consciousness by taking your attention away from your present limitations and placing it upon that which you desire to be.”
“Do not attempt this in day-dreaming or wishful thinking but in a positive manner. Claim yourself to be the thing desired. I AM that; no sacrifice, no diet, no human tricks. All that is asked of you is to accept your desire. If you dare claim it, you will express it.”
“I will be” is a confession that “I am not “ The Father’s will is always “I AM.” Until you realize that YOU are the Father (there is only one I AM and your infinite self is that I AM), your will is always “I will be.”
“If you judge after appearances, you will continue to be enslaved by the evidence of your senses.”
“Consciousness is the one and only reality, not figuratively but actually. This reality may for the sake of clarity be likened unto a stream which is divided into two parts, the conscious and the subconscious. In order to intelligently operate the law of consciousness it is necessary to understand the relationship between the conscious and the subconscious.”
“Imagination and faith are the secrets of creation.”
“Sleep conceals the creative act while the objective world reveals it. In sleep man impresses the subconscious with his conception of himself.”
“With your desire defined, quietly go within and shut the door behind you. Lose yourself in your desire; feel yourself to be one with it; remain in this fixation until you have absorbed the life and name by claiming and feeling yourself to be and to have that which you desired. When you emerge from the hour of prayer you must do so conscious of being and possessing that which you heretofore desired.”
“All conceptions are limitations of the conceiver.”
“Do not waste one moment in regret, for to think feelingly of the mistakes of the past is to reinfect yourself. “Let the dead bury the dead” [Matthew 8:22; Luke 9:60]. Turn from appearances and assume the feeling that would be yours were you already the one you wish to be.”
“Only as one is willing to give up his present limitations and identity can he become that which he desires to be.”
“Here is a simple formula for successful fishing. First decide what it is you want to express or possess. This is essential. You must definitely know what you want in life before you can fish for it. After your decision is made, turn from the world of sense, remove your attention from the problem and place it on just being by repeating quietly but with the feeling, “I AM.”
As your attention is removed from the world around you and placed upon the I AM so that you are lost in the feeling of simply being, you will find yourself slipping the anchor that tied you to the shallows of your problem; and effortlessly you will find yourself moving out into the deep.”
“To reach a higher level of being, you must assume a higher concept of yourself.”
“To desire a state is to have it.”
“To be conscious of being poor while praying for riches is to be rewarded with that which you are conscious of being, namely, poverty. Prayers to be successful must be claimed and appropriated. Assume the positive consciousness of the thing desired.”

“When you drop your desire in consciousness as a seed, confident that it shall appear in its full-blown potential, you have done all that is expected of you. To be worried or concerned about the manner of their unfolding is to hold these fertile seeds in a mental grasp and, therefore, to prevent them from really maturing to full harvest.”
“You are already that which you want to be, and your refusal to believe it is the only reason you do not see it.”
“Doubt is the only force capable of disturbing the seed or impression; to avoid a miscarriage of such a wonderful child, walk in secrecy through the necessary interval of time that it will take the impression to become an expression. Tell no man of your spiritual romance. Lock your secret within you in joy, confident and happy that someday you will bear the son of your lover by expressing and possessing the nature of your impression. Then will you know the mystery of “God said, Let us make man in our image.”
“All you can possibly need or desire is already yours. You need no helper to give it to you; it is yours now. Call your desires into being by imagining and feeling your wish fulfilled. As the end is accepted, you become totally indifferent as to possible failure, for acceptance of the end wills the means to that end.
When you emerge from the moment of prayer, it is as though you were shown the happy and successful end of a play although you were not shown how that end was achieved. However, having witnessed the end, regardless of any anticlimactic sequence, you remain calm and secure in the knowledge that the end has been perfectly defined.”
“Be not afraid nor dismayed by reason of this great multitude; for the battle is not yours, but God’s.” You do not fight against your problem; your problem will only live as long as you are conscious of it. Take your attention away from your problem and the multitude of reasons why you cannot achieve your ideal. Concentrate your attention entirely upon the thing desired.”

“The conscious generates ideas and impresses these ideas on the subconscious; the subconscious receives ideas and gives form and expression to them. By this law-first conceiving an idea and then impressing the idea conceived on the subconscious-all things evolve out of consciousness.”
